Community member terms
Updated 27 October 2026 · fees and member responsibilities
Forum access below describes the membership terms; spaces marked “Coming soon” are not yet open.
Member terms updated 27 October 2026. Parts A to D and the applicable member schedule explain the Community terms. This update does not authorise any charge or replace previously accepted fee terms without agreement.
Part A. General terms
Who we are. PERFORM Community is based in Brisbane, Queensland. "PERFORM", "we" and "us" mean that business.
Joining. You apply through the membership form. PERFORM reviews every application and may approve or decline it. If we decline, we will tell you why.
Your account. Each login is for one person. Your business may add a second person. Keep your details accurate and your login code private. You are responsible for what is posted from your account.
Fees.
For new members from 27 October 2026, membership is $200 per month including GST. Payments are not open yet; submitting an application does not authorise a charge.
Existing members retain their agreed terms: free through 31 January 2027, then $100 per month including GST from 1 February 2027, only if they choose to continue.
We will contact you before any fee starts. You only pay if you choose to continue and enter your payment details.
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future payments. Fees already paid for the current month are not refunded unless the law requires it.
Using the community. You must follow the content standards in Part B and the competition rules in Part C. You must not use the community to advertise, spam, collect other members' details, or do anything unlawful.
What you post. You keep ownership of what you post. You give PERFORM permission to display it to members, store it, and remove or hide it. You must only post things you have the right to share.
Keep it in the community. Don't copy, screenshot or forward other members' posts outside the community without their permission.
Not advice. Posts, training, templates and guidance are general information. They are not legal, financial or professional advice for your situation.
Partners. PERFORM may list suppliers and advisers as trusted partners. Any deal you make with a partner is between you and them.
Your information. We handle your information under the PERFORM Community privacy notice. Other members see your name, company, trades and regions. Your mobile and email stay with PERFORM.
Texts and emails. We only send alerts and news if you agree. Reply STOP to texts or unsubscribe from emails at any time. Login codes are sent whenever you ask for one.
Suspension and removal. If you break these terms, we may hide your posts, or suspend or remove your account. Documented non-payment or other business conduct concerns may be reviewed privately as potential breaches. A complaint alone does not trigger removal, and PERFORM does not decide debts or resolve commercial disputes. Except for serious breaches, such as abuse, threats or unlawful conduct, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to respond first.
Our responsibility. We will run the community with reasonable care, but we can't promise it will always be available or error free. PERFORM introduces people; it is not a party to agreements between members and does not guarantee another member’s performance or payment. Members must make their own checks and agree work and payment terms directly. If a member supplies a crew and is not paid, PERFORM does not act as their debt collector. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
Changes to these terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any change that affects you. If you don't agree, you can cancel before it starts and we won't charge you under the new terms.
Leaving. You can leave at any time. We will remove your profile. Your posts may stay in threads with your name removed, unless you ask us to delete them.
Law. These terms are governed by the law of Queensland.

Part B. Content standards
These apply to everything you post, including replies, profiles, photos and files.
Nothing defamatory. Don't name or identify a builder, subcontractor, supplier or person in a complaint, including by hints. Describe the problem, not who it's with. Don't accuse anyone of dishonesty, fraud or breaking the law. Don't repeat rumours. Documented issues with a business go to PERFORM privately through the Builder and Project Experience Register, never the forum. The only exception to naming a business is a moderated review of a confirmed engagement under the Community review policy; individual people must never be identified.
Nothing derogatory. No labels or insults about a business or person. No comments about anyone's race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or background. Criticise ideas and methods, never people.
Nothing abusive. No threats, intimidation, bullying or harassment. No swearing at or about other members. No posting anyone's personal details. No repeated contact with a member who has asked you to stop.
No false claims. Don't post anything false or misleading, including about your own business, licences or experience. Don't post anything you're not allowed to share, such as documents under a confidentiality clause.
Breaches. A first minor breach means the post is hidden and we explain why. Repeated or serious breaches mean posting is paused or the account is suspended. Threats, abuse or unlawful conduct mean the account is removed straight away and may be reported to police.
Part C. Competition and consumer law rules
Members are often competitors. Australian law bans competitors from agreeing to cooperate instead of compete, formally or informally.
You must never use the community for:
Price fixing, such as agreeing minimum rates, discounts, day rates or margins.
Market sharing, such as dividing areas or agreeing who works for which builder.
Bid rigging, such as agreeing who wins a tender, taking turns, or putting in a high price so someone else wins.
Controlling output, such as agreeing to limit crews or capacity.
Boycotts, such as agreeing as a group not to work for a builder or supply a business.
Don't share with other members: what you charge, your rates or margins, what you're bidding or whether you're bidding, or who your customers are.
You can discuss: how to build up a rate from your own costs, estimating methods and tools, contract terms and getting paid in general, public information, and passing on a job you can't take, as long as there's no agreement about price or who bids.
Group action. Members must not organise any group negotiation or group refusal through the community.
Honest dealing. Don't make false or misleading claims about your licences, insurance, experience, capacity or past projects.
Reporting. Report any post that breaks these rules. If someone approaches you about prices, customers or bids, don't get involved.
Part D. Complaints, reports and takedown
Who can complain. Anyone, member or not, including a business or person who thinks a post is about them.
How. Members use the Report button on every post, reply and profile. Anyone else uses the "Report content" link on every public page or emails admin@performconsulting.com.au.
What PERFORM does.
Acknowledges the complaint within 2 business days.
Hides the post straight away if it might be defamatory, abusive or a competition breach.
Decides within 5 business days whether to remove, edit with the poster's agreement, or restore it.
Tells the complainant and the poster what was decided and why.
Keeps a record of the complaint, the post, the action and the dates.
Legal notices. Concerns notices, letters of demand or court documents go to PERFORM's lawyer the same day. The post stays hidden until the lawyer advises.
Review. The poster can ask for one review of a decision by email.
Schedule A. Structural trades businesses
You can use all six forum spaces, including the subcontractor-only spaces: Community Forum, Pricing and Estimating, and Contract Management.
Builders can't see the subcontractor-only spaces, but Parts B and C apply there in full. Don't pass on what's said there to builders or anyone outside the community.
You confirm your business holds the QBCC licence it needs. Tell PERFORM within 14 days if it is suspended, cancelled or changes class.
Keep your profile accurate: trades, regions, project types and contract sizes.
Posting or passing on work is an introduction only. Any agreement is between you and the other business. PERFORM is not a party to it and doesn't guarantee anyone's work or payment.
Only offer labour, plant or materials you actually have available. Labour arrangements must comply with workplace and labour hire laws.
PERFORM Verified. Documents you give must be genuine and current. Verified means PERFORM checked the listed items on the dates shown. It is not certification or accreditation, and you must not describe it as either. Tell PERFORM if your insurance lapses. Verified status is removed if your checked details stop being current.
Register submissions are covered by the Register terms.
Schedule B. Starting out
You can use all six forum spaces, including the subcontractor-only spaces.
Be clear that you are starting out. Don't present yourself as an established or licensed business until you are.
Don't offer or carry out work that needs a QBCC licence until you hold one.
Guidance about setting up, pricing or contracts is general. Get your own accounting, legal and insurance advice before you start trading.
When your business is set up, update your profile and PERFORM will move you to Schedule A.
You must not take on subcontract work through the community that your business isn't yet licensed, insured or set up to do.
Schedule C. Builders
You can use Jobs and Work to Price, Labour and Resources, and Suppliers and Gear. The other three spaces are for subcontractors only.
Don't try to access the subcontractor-only spaces, use another member's login, or ask a member to pass on what's said there.
You confirm your business holds the QBCC licence it needs. Tell PERFORM within 14 days if it is suspended, cancelled or changes class.
Only post real projects you intend to award. Describe scope, location and timing accurately. Don't post work just to collect prices.
Don't share one member's price or quote with another member.
Introductions are not recommendations. You are responsible for your own checks on licence, insurance, capacity and references.
Don't threaten or intimidate a member, or use the community to target them, because of a post, report or Register submission they made, or you think they made.
You can ask PERFORM to review any Register record about your business through the right of reply process.
Ratings and reviews
Reviews require a confirmed engagement. Both businesses submit independently within a 14-day window. PERFORM moderates every review and reply, never edits submitted words or scores, and does not reject reviews solely because they are negative. Builders and partners are not rated. No payments or sponsorship influence ratings or search order. An average appears only at three published reviews. Each reviewed business may reply once and dispute a review under the review policy.
